You
will need the following things in addition to your Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste:
|
Practice on yourself. Freshly shaved legs are a great
practice pad. A
neck, chest, face, back, belly, arms and shaved legs are ideal places
for
application. If you apply Becoming Moonlight Body® Gilding Paste to hairy skin, removal
will
be as difficult as getting bubble gum out of a cocker spaniel's
ear. To apply this body art, begin by cleaning the person's
skin,
or the glitter will stick where you do not want it to. Do not apply Becoming Moonlight Body® Gilding Paste onto a person who is allergic to band-aids, adhesives, or acrylic. This product does not contain latex, but some people are allergic to acrylic medical adhesives. If you get Becoming Moonlight® gilding paste on clothing, rinse it out with isopropyl alcohol. It will not wash out. |
![]() Remove the tape from the cone tip when you are ready to work. The tape keeps Becoming Moonlight Body® Gilding Paste from leaking out, and it keeps the adhesive from drying at the tip. |
![]() Clip a tiny bit from the tip. If you clip too much, you'll waste your cone. Clip the smallest bit off the tip that will squeeze out a tiny line of paste. |
![]() Test your line. Use a smaller line of Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste than you would henna paste. Thin lines dry quickly. Heavier lines dry more slowly. Glitter and other powders will fatten up your lines, so start thin. | ![]() Apply Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste to the skin, just as you would apply henna. If your lines are thin, they will be dry enough to apply glitter in a few minutes. This paste will not become transparent as it dries. It will stay white. |
![]() Brush Becoming Moonlight® glitter or gilding powder over the pattern, Brush very lightly to spread the glitter exactly where you want it to go. Brush away the excess. |
![]() Do you want to add another, clearly separate color? Apply more Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste, and apply the other powder. |
![]() Brush away the excess with a soft brush. Be careful to not touch the brush to the sticky paste. |
![]() Do you want a design with many colors? You can continue applying as as much complexity as you wish. |
![]() You can sprinkle in more colors; the colors will blend together. Brush away the excess with a soft brush. |
![]() You can add Becoming Moonlight® gilding powder, Mehron Metallic powders, and gems with Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste. |
![]() Sprinkle on gilding powder and brush or blow away the excess. If the weather is very humid, or if you are perspiring, you may need to rinse off excess glitter. Wait twenty minutes for the paste to dry before washing. You can wash away the excess glitter, gilding powder, or metallic powder with soap and water, washing will not disturb the pattern! |
![]() You don't have to worrry about aftercare. You can put loose clothing on over this body art. You can shower, and the art will not come off! This body art will last between three and ten days, depending on how well you take care of your art. You can remove a pattern quickly by rubbing it with the sticky side of scotch tape! |
![]() If you get a sticky blob on the tip of your cone while you work, clean the tip with an alcohol prep pad. |
![]() When you're done, clean the tip and put a tab of tape back on the tip. Your paste will last for months without refrigeration. |
![]() Top to bottom in this picture: 1. Henna applied with a cone. 2. Pros-Aide® Cream Adhesive applied with a cone. The line flattens out. 3. Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste applied with a cone. The gilding paste makes a finer, firmer line than the other two. | ![]() 1. Henna has to stay in the skin for a long time to leave a good stain. 2. Pros-Aide® Cream Adhesive becomes transparent when it dries. That makes it difficult to keep track of larger, more complex designs. 3. Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste stays white so you can keep track of complex work. You can apply glitter or powder any time after a few minutes drying. | ![]() 1. Glitter clings to henna, but is gone the next day. 2. Glitter clings to Pros-Aide® Cream Adhesive, and will stay in place for up to ten days. 3. Glitter clings to Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste and will stay in place for up to ten days. |
![]() Prepare your work area. Spread newspaper or something disposible over your work area. Remove puppies, kittens, and inquisitive children from the area. Use disposable tools for filling cones; Becoming Moonlight Body® Gilding Paste is extremely difficult to clean up. If you didn't wear gloves, wipe your hands clean with isopropyl alcohol: if you have Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste on your fingers, they'll stick to everything you touch. | ![]() Roll cones with a very tight tip. Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste is much smoother than henna paste, and makes finer lines. Roll, prep and set up two dozen cones for one 4 oz jar of Becoming Moonlight Body® Gilding Paste. You might not need all the cones, but running out of rolled cones in the middle of this work is no fun at all. Put your cones into an egg carton for stability when filling. |
![]() Remove the plunger from the barrel of the syringe. Put on nitrile gloves. It is easier to take off nitrile gloves than clean gilding paste off your hands. | ![]() Shield the syringe barrel with plastic wrap and stand it up in a glass. |
![]() Open the jar of Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste and scoop up some with a stick. | ![]() Load Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste into thh barrel of the syringe with a disposible stick. Fill the barrel about halway full. It takes a steady hand to get the gilding paste into the cones without spilling. Spills can be cleaned up with generous amounts of 91% isopropyl alcohol. |
![]() With the plastic wrap still around the barrel, push the plunger into the barrel. | ![]() Inject paste into the cones with your syringe. Fill the cones ONLY HALF WAY full. |
![]() When all the cones are filled, begin to roll the tops down. Use a tissue to wipe any gilding paste from the open end of the cone. This cone should be smaller than you usually use for henna. Smaller cones are easier to work with for body gilding, smaller cones are less apt to leak. You will need much less gilding paste than henna to make a pattern. | ![]() Roll down the top. If your cone is half full, it will be easier to roll the top down without the Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste leaking. |
![]() Tape down the rolled top of your cone securely. Tape the tip of your cone to prevent leakage and drying. Continue the process of filling the syringe and filling cones until your whole jar of Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste is empty. | ![]() Now
you have many cones. Becoming Moonlight® Gilding Paste will last
for months without refrigeration, ready for you to work any time. |
