| Different henna
crops have
different dye contents based on weather conditions, harvest time,
and soil. Different henna mills and milling processes produce
different paste characteristics. Studying and comparing henna
crops from different regions and different processes is part of my PhD
research on henna. I tested five different Rajasthani monsoon henna samples from different suppliers, and found one which made a darker stain than I'd ever seen from a Pali district henna. I ordered a ton of this henna and had it milled to my specifications, with a finer sift than other Rajasthani hennas. The result of this special milling is a unique henna available ONLY from mehandi.com! This henna has a very stringy texture: you can drape long delicate lines without the henna strand breaking. You will not need to add any sugar; this henna does not crack when drying (at least in this climate). The stain is vivid red within three hours of paste removal, and darkens to plum-black on my palms and dark brown on my wrist. Nobody else has this unique
