Description

Mix 25gr. of Ancient Sunrise® Amla powder per 100gr. of Ancient Sunrise® henna powder or Ancient Sunrise® cassia powder, then stir in enough filtered or distilled until the paste is the desired consistency. Ancient Sunrise® Amla is powdered, dried fruit of the pyllanthus emblica tree. Amla can make henna and indigo paste dye your hair a cooler brunette.

Amla paste is also an excellent exfoliating, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial astringent scrub for your face. It does not have the alcohol and chemicals found in commercial facial scrubs. Amla has high levels of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) that break up the top layer of dead skin cells, and bits of amla seed, which gently exfoliate the skin. Mix a spoonful of amla powder and enough cool water to make a paste about the consistency of yogurt. Let that sit for 15 minutes. Scrub your skin with the paste, and wash the paste off after a minute.

Several of our clients have used Ancient Sunrise® Amla daily on their skin to end acne outbreaks, to reduce the frequency of acne outbreaks, and to fade the scarring more quickly.

Henna and cassia will dye your hair most effectively when mixed with a mildly acidic liquid. The acidic liquid keeps the hydrogen atoms intact on the corners of the quinone molecules so the color (lawsone or crysophanic acid) can bind to the keratin in your hair. If these molecules are bound to your hair, the color will not fade or go peculiar. In fact, the henna and cassia color will gradually deepen and look more natural. We have tested Ancient Sunrise® Amla through an independent certified laboratory to insure acidity and that it has NO lead, NO PPD, NO contaminants, adulterants or pesticide residue.

The links below connect to chapters of the free e-book Ancient Sunrise® Henna for Hair, a book researched and written by Catherine Cartwright-Jones PhD, a researcher who focused her graduate and doctoral work on henna. Ancient Sunrise® Henna for Hair is meant to help people understand how to dye their hair without chemicals, to protect their own health and the health of the planet they live on, to correct the misconceptions that have lead to chemical hair dye industry replacing henna, and to dispel the abundant misinformation about henna.
